A gift made in honor of or in memory of a loved one is a meaningful way to make a tribute or to celebrate holidays, recognize achievements, or acknowledge special occasions such as anniversaries and birthdays. The Foundation will send a card to the person or family you indicate, acknowledging your gift. We do not disclose the amount of the gift. You will receive an acknowledgement of your gift. You can increase the value of your contribution through a matching gift from your employer. Many employers match gifts made by employees, officers, directors, and in some cases, spouses/partners and retired employees, officers, or directors. By taking advantage of a matching gift program, you will increase the amount of support to the Foundation. Here's how to make a matching gift:

• Check with your employer’s personnel department to find out about its matching gift policy.
• Ask your employer for a form to notify us of your contribution.
• We will verify your gift and return the form to your company, which will then issue a matching gift contribution to the Weirton Medical Center Foundation in your name.

Wills and Living Trusts
Your gift through a will or living trust supports the Weirton Medical Center Foundation and its work in helping to provide healthcare services that enhance the quality of life of residents in Weirton Medical Center’s service area. Gifts through a will or living trust provide a legacy that continues to do good for years to come. You may choose to make an outright bequest to the Weirton Medical Center Foundation by leaving a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. The following is a sample of bequest language:

"I give (____ percent of my estate) or (the residue of my estate) or ($_______ specific dollar amount) to the Weirton Medical Center Foundation, a West Virginia nonprofit corporation, for its general use and purposes. The Weirton Medical Center Foundation is located at 601 Colliers Way, Weirton, WV 26062.

If you are considering a gift through a will or living trust, we encourage you to consult with an attorney who is familiar with estate planning.

Many individuals have life insurance policies whose benefits they no longer need. You may want to consider naming the Weirton Medical Center Foundation as the beneficiary and assigning ownership of the policy to the Weirton Medical Center Foundation. You may also purchase a new policy with the Weirton Medical Center Foundation as the beneficiary. You will receive a charitable deduction; and if you are removing the life insurance policy from your estate, you may also reduce your estate taxes. Please contact your insurance representative or attorney regarding donations of insurance policies.
