About Weirton Medical Center Foundation
The Weirton Medical Center Foundation was founded in 1989 with the mission of building a healthier community by supporting the Weirton Medical Center and local community projects through its Healthy Community Grant program. Because of the generous support of the community, the Weirton Medical Center Foundation has awarded $1,324,694 in grants in just the last ten years.
Healthy Community Grants funded a variety of projects ranging from a free healthcare clinic for the working uninsured, to bicycle safety rodeos, and educational assistance for clinical professions that are in demand.
Grants to the Weirton Medical Center provided vitally-needed equipment and programs such as electronic neonatal monitors to check on the health of newborns, and inpatient beds that help to increase patients comfort and reduce problems associated with prolonged bed rest.
There are many ways in which donors can support the Weirton Medical Center Foundation.
